Mixed Media Vessels
Join us for a four-week intensive where you will learn how to blend the traditional crafts of pottery & basketry to create unique mixed media vessels.
Class sessions will be from 1-3pm the first four Saturdays in August.
This class, taught by Stephanie Tyler of Third Branch Pottery and Jordan Turk of Brainstorm Art Supply, is designed for beginners and will build tools and techniques over the first three sessions and culminate in a final class where your vessels will take shape.
The first session will be with Stephanie at Third Branch working on building the ceramic base.
The second week students will work with Jordan at Brainstorm to learn the techniques of coiling and basic basketry, as well as create materials to be integrated into the final piece.
In the third week, students will participate in a Raku firing of their ceramic bases to create alchemist magic with their surface.
In the final class, students will create their final vessels by bringing together the materials and techniques from week 2.
The last Saturday of August is available as a fifth session to students who want additional help or time to work on their pieces.
This class is $175 per Student and includes all materials.
Space is limited.
