Golden Heavy Body Acrylic Paint, 2 oz. Fluorescent & Phosphorescent
$16.89
Regular price $14.36Fluorescent colors: Create luminescent effects that shine by day and glow underneath a black light! This fluorescent paint emits an intense, brilliant color that has been formulated for maximum intensity. However, because the fluorescent pigments are extremely transparent, they should be applied over light colors for best results. The greatest intensity of color can be achieved by working over a bright white surface, such as GOLDEN White Gesso or Heavy Body Titanium White. GOLDEN Fluorescent Colors should be used by themselves to achieve maximum vibrancy. If you do wish to blend, various gels and mediums can create a variety of effects, however, blending with non-fluorescent acrylic colors or matte mediums tends to decrease the fluorescent color intensity.
- If you wish to blend with other fluorescent colors, always test blends before use in artwork; blending can reduce vibrancy
- Like other GOLDEN products, GOLDEN Fluorescents have a high pigment load
- Pigmented dyes are not lightfast; if greater permanency is desired, GOLDEN MSA Varnish with Ultraviolet Light Stabilizers (UVLS) is recommended
Phosphorescent Green is a Heavy Body paint that can be applied to various surfaces. The unique pigment used has the ability to absorb and store natural and artificial light. Once the light source is removed (i.e. when the lights are turned off or the painted object is taken into a dark area), a bright, greenish glow is emitted for up to 15 minutes. The glow steadily diminishes as the stored light energy is released. In order to maximize the effect, apply several layers. To hide the Phosphorescent Green during normal viewing, apply the medium over a base color that is similar in hue and value. This will allow even heavy coatings to be undetectable during normal lighting. Using this technique will allow for "hidden" messages or graphics to be put into an artwork! Mixing with acrylic paints, applying layers of paint over the medium, or even applying a transparent glaze will substantially diminish the glow. Phosphorescent Green can, however, be blended with any of the GOLDEN Gloss Gels or Mediums.
- Water-based acrylic medium can be applied to various surfaces
- Glow time is directly related to the thickness of the applied medium, as well as the intensity, quality and time of exposure to the light source
- Natural and artificial light sources can be used to "charge" GOLDEN Phosphorescent Green; the fastest charge can result from a good Ultraviolet Light, commonly referred to as a "black light"
